How We Work

A joint venture founded in March 2019 between Kudos Productions and Riot Games, Kudos Shanghai is an industry-leading studio focused on game art development and sound design. Kudos Shanghai is responsible for operation and management, while Riot Games is responsible for art direction.

Our mission is to elevate player experience through exceptional game art. To achieve this, we have gathered, and continue to recruit, the best artists in China to further enrich and expand the vast gaming universe of Riot Games.

We practice an inclusive culture that champions open communication and collaboration. We believe by doing so we can not only fulfill our artistic potential but deliver a world-class game experience for our players.

Respect for Creativity

At Kudos, we have a deep respect for the creative process. Every artist works differently and we provide them full support to do their best work and showcase their own ideas. Whether it’s working solo or collaborating with a team, our goal is always to realize great ideas in games to be experienced by players everywhere.

We embrace an open office culture with a flat organizational structure. We stress the importance of a feedback culture and encourage communication across all disciplines. This is because we believe we grow stronger together when we foster open communication and maintain a healthy and positive atmosphere for all.

Space for Inspiration

At our studio, every artist is equipped with a state-of-the-art workstation that strikes the right balance between openness for when you need to communicate with team members, and privacy for when you need to focus. In addition to a fresh air system for circulation, our walls are properly treated for noise reduction and sound insulation. The space is also appropriately-dimmed with adjustable lighting for artists to freely create without distraction.

We work closely with the Riot team to develop and produce high-quality game content. With additional support on creative execution and the sharing of knowledge and experience, Kudos artists are perfectly positioned to create exceptional work while simultaneously immersing themselves in Riot’s development process.
